Class Notes and Teaching Style

I lecture using a tablet PC connected to a projector. Everything I write is uploaded in PDF format to the course website where it remains available for all to see. We'll have a record of what I present at each lecture, with a time stamp for that day.

Best Way to Contact Me

If you want a quick response, contact me by email to lucio.tavernini@utsa.edu. In response to an email, I can answer technical questions by attaching a PDF file with handwritten information (using mathematical symbols, sketches and diagrams). Class policies regarding missed exams, personal emergencies and other class issues are spelled out in detail in the Course Outline for each course section.

Smartphone Courses Pseudoapp

I don't have a smartphone app for my courses; but I can tell you how to set up a pseudoapp that actually works better than a real app for the purpose of looking up course information. Here are the steps for an iPhone:

  1. Activate Safari (the iPhone web browser).
  2. In Safari, enter tavernini.com/mobi in the address window; then touch the Go button.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, touch the icon showing a rectangle with a thick arrow coming out of it.
  4. In the menu that appears, touch Add to Home Screen.
  5. In the menu that appears, enter the name you wish to give the icon; then touch Add on the upper right of the screen.
Steps 1 and 2 can be eliminated by scanning the QR code on any course Detailed Content Syllabus, then touching the Open button. The QR code is also shown below.

QR Code

I send class announcements, homework assignments and all other communications to my students via the course website important news feature. (See the top of the left column of this page for a notice of important news.) I also use Twitter, but do not respond to tweets.
